Attention Worship Livestream viewers!  We are so glad that you are able to join us virtually every Sunday.  Some time ago, YouTube updated how it works and disabled the live chat feature for livestreaming, if we want to be classified as appropriate for children. We are reviewing our online presence and looking to adapt with the changing technology.

We have added an email option for you to contact us on Sunday mornings if there are any issues with the livestream, or if you want to include joys and concerns in worship.  Please email Susan, our AV Coordinator at bowmillstech@gmail.com, during 9:00A Sunday morning worship to alert us to any issues or to share your joys and concerns during the first part of worship.   We are trying this out, so be patient with us as we seek to connect more deeply with our online worshippers!  If you have other ideas, questions or concerns about how we can continue to develop connections with our virtual worship participants, please share these with Pastor Virg!

How We Worship at Bow Mills UMC

A few weeks ago we asked, through a worship survey, what would be the best time for worship on Sunday mornings.  The overwhelming choice was for the service to be at 9:00A

Like much of life these days, uncertainty and adaptation become our constant companions.  I am grateful that each one of you are on the journey together – I know some welcome this change, and for others, this makes it all the more challenging to participate in corporate worship.  Please feel free to reach out and share your perspective.

A trend that was present before and amplified by the pandemic was decreasing participation by youth families and young adults.  Shifting our current type of worship to one service at 9:00 am, allows us the opportunity to explore offering a new type of worship experience later in the day.  The nudge the Spirit has been giving is “Simple Church” … a participatory focus with a short reflection followed by discussion and prayer.  If you are interested in exploring the possibilities, please be in touch with me (Pastor Virg).

Child Care is available during Worship for Children ages 6 and below.  The nursery will be staffed during each worship service for children ages 6 and below.  Our nursery attended is Dottie Webb.  For parents, please fill out a registration form during drop off so we will be alerted to pertinent information.  Children are always welcome to stay in the sanctuary for any or all parts of the worship service.  If you have questions, please see Pastor Virg.

Our Connection at Bow Mills United Methodist Church

Rev. Virginia L. Fryer, Pastor

"What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8b

These are the scripture words that best describe my own call to ministry, and how I seek to be a faithful Christian in the world, and a pastoral leader in the Church.

The Bow Mills United Methodist Church is a community of Christ-followers who seek to live out their faith in study, daily living, spiritual growth and action. We are a diverse community where we seek to welcome all and learn and grow together.

Our worship seeks to inspire and challenge participants with Scripture and its message for us today. We involve a variety of ages, children are most welcome! The services follow a similar format and includes:

  • Traditional and contemporary music in worship
  • Choir
  • Drama
  • Sacred Dance
  • Worship Art and Environment
  • and other experiential ways of worshipping

We hope you will join us for worship, study or one of our other exciting events. Visit us as soon as you have the opportunity. We will be glad to meet you!

Peace and blessings,

Pastor Virg Fryer
